The success of Japan's rapid development is closely connected with its strong education system, especially the education on the outstanding cultural tradition and morality. The moral education in Japan has a long history, with special features in each stage in process but one main aim to improve the populace's cultivation and to enrich people's spiritual life. With its distinctive characteristics, the unique Japanese mode has been formed gradually. For example, the traditional Japanese culture emphasizes honesty, virtue, sympathy, diligence, and hardworking. The Japanese people, in the process of moral education, lay equal stress on individualism and cooperation, worship tradition, work, outlook on life, and emphasize students'leading as well as group awareness. They also would like to absorb outstanding culture from foreign countries, stress moral practice, and always put the group and the nation as the first priority. The moral education for Japanese youngsters has been developing rapidly, which has attracted worldwide attention especially after World Warâ…¡. Therefore, it is very significant to study the moral education for Japanese youngsters, especially the four major reforms after World Warâ…¡, in order to further strengthen the moral education to our Chinese youngsters.In this study, we reviewed several reforms in the history of Japan in terms of moral education, on the basis of which, we further analyses the process and features of moral education for Japanese youngsters after World Warâ…¡. By in-depth analysis on the content, methods, major features and roundedness of Japanese mode combining with the situation in China, we sum up the experience and implication we should learn from the Japanese mode, and propose the suggestion to put moral education for Chinese youngsters into strategic level. Meanwhile we should promote innovation in the theory of moral education, as well as fostering moral emotions, and make extensive use of social resources to further explore various modes of moral education, including strengthening patriotic education and the education of excellent traditional Chinese culture. |
