The issue related to left-behind children in rural areas is of Chinese characteristics. These children are the future talent resource for the construction of new socialist countryside. So the general public have shown great concerns over this urgent problem. This study, based on the status survey of the left-behind children, analyses the existing problems and the causes of the socialization of the left-behind children with corresponding solutions proposed.The paper starts with the concepts, contents and the influencing factors of the socialization of the left-behind children in rural areas. Questionnaires and case interviews focusing on the problem are conducted with the application of quantitative analysis and empirical approach. By comparing the left-behind children with those who stay with their parents, the paper draws the following conclusions:for those children who are left behind by their migrant worker parents, they are facing various problems in terms of livelihood, personal safety, mental health, school education, moral education as well as social support.Then the paper comes up with corresponding solutions to the problem from five aspects:the fundamental role of the family, the main role of the school, the functional role of the community, the service role of the society and the support of the government, exploring a favorable mechanism for the children left-behind.
