This project is focusing on the history of constitutional development during the period from Africa declaration of independence to 1990s in Africa. This thesis has three sections which are introduction, the text and epilogue. There are five chapters included in the text, name in order: The constitutional constructure in the earlier days of African nations'independence; The exploration between the early period of independence to 1980s; New transformations inbetween 1980s and 1990s; Significant factors which affected constitutional development and reform process in Africa; Experience and enlightenment from African countries'constitutional development. According to the constructure of this thesis, this article starts with a brief introduction of constitutional development in Africa countries after their independence to 1980s, observe the develop process of their party system, army intervention, tribal problems and human rights protection system historically. Then I will analyse the important factors that affected African constitutional development and reform process from both internal and external sides. At the end,I will mainly focus on the experience and lessons we could learn from African constitutional development. The exordium section starts with an introduction of why it is necessary to study African constitutional problems and the ground that breed those problems; the first three chapters are concentrating on historical facts, the period from African countries declaration of independent to the early 1990s was divided into three stages: the earlier period of independence, from then to 1980s, from 1980s to 1990s. I tried my best to detailed represent the constitutional develop process in Africa during that period of time, especially their party system, army intervention, tribal problems and human rights protection system and specific systems like them, among them will be thrust specific case studies, the forth chapter fixed the predecessors'old studies and the newest academic views together, predecessors'old studies studied African economy, tribes, the history of army intervention, colonial rule and foreign political intervention, and the outcomes is a treasure land. The author tried to classify these factors from both internal and external sides based on their origin, in addition, author added personal academic views, which is the hardest part and where innovation is at as well. The fifth chapter is the last chapter, it's aim is to summarize, but more importantly, is to sublime. Historically speaking, African constitutionalism is exotic, but now it accolimatized itself to the African gound, the localization process of foreign laws will certainly bring the conflicts between local legal culture and external legal culture. So the process of African constitutional development can bring us enormous enlightenment, and that is where the essence of this thesis is at.
