Chinese culture on Brecht's influence was reflected in many aspects, not onlyreflected in him for the Chinese opera performance art, also reflected in his painstakingresearch of Chinese classical philosophy. Brecht 's favorite and respect on Chinesetraditional culture was serious and sincere,and his reference to Chinese culture wasoutstanding. In the treasure house of Chinese culture, he met his pursuit that he hadbeen longing for, drawing lessons quite boldly.But he was not after all sinologists.TheChinese culture he could reach was very limited, which inevitably led tomisunderstanding. In his dramatic works or drama theory, we can see the Chinesetraditional culture on his inspiration, and his love for Chinese culture.China's "Brecht phenomenon" was from1929by Zhao Jingsheng whointroduced Brecht to China. It experienced a total of three climax,which occurred in1959,1962and1979.China was in a socialist early in1959when there was the firstclimax that had a similar historical background with the third one after the end of theCultural Revolution: in a special historical period of time of great change inpassion,majority of things undone.Theory and works of Brecht in the introduction ofthis period, had virtually become a powerful tool in the hands of scholars of Chinesedrama. They not only met the needs of the political background,but also brought thenew possibilities into the old theory of drama.During this long period, Brecht became apainted symbols and tools.Chinese drama scholars carried on the conscious choice ofBrecht 's epic drama theory.The spirit and core were consciously emphasized andamplified,which set a new reform target for China plays and played a huge role inChinese special historical period. But in the history of Chinese contemporary theatre, tobear the historic task was beyond him as a playwright who could afford.This politicalattention, stepped in-depth understanding and tremendous impact brought into full fieldestablished "the phenomenon of brecht" with distinct Chinese characteristics and the eracharacteristics.
