Hermeneutic circle (also known as hermeneutics, interpretation or circle ofunderstanding) is a central thesis of hermeneutic. In the process of hermeneutics'development from the collection of special principles of understanding into ontology,and finally rising to philosophical hermeneutics, the connotation and significance ofhermeneutic circle has changed with the hermeneutics' development. Now thehermeneutic circle main contains several relationships: The first one is the relationshipbetween the part and the entirety of the text (or other understanding object). The secondone is the relationship between the text (or other understanding object) and itsbackground of existing (including the author's works, style and time spirit). The thirdone is the relationship between reader's fore-understanding and his whole life world.The purpose of this article is to search the significance of hermeneutic circle byunderstanding its content.
