The question of truth has always been discussed in philosophical, logical andmathematical area, Aristotle and many other scholars have different understanding indifferent time, and form their own theories of truth based on their own standing. TheAmerican-polish scholar, Alfred Tarski published The Concept of Truth in FormalizedLanguages in1935and The Semantic Conception of Truth: and the Foundations ofSemantics in1944these two papers, in these two papers Tarski combined the methodsof logical technique, morphology, semantics, philosophy and many other subjects, andproposed the definition of the semantic theory of truth and founded logical semantics. The appearance of this theory pushed the development of logic and philosophy. In this paper, we started from the research background of Tarski's semantic theoryof truth, and made a clear sense of its study target and meaning. By elaborating the twocriterions of truth proposed by Tarski, found the real meaning of the notion of truth inTarski's semantic theory of truth and explained the correspondence theory of thecorrespondence philosophy as well. In this paper, we also mentioned that Tarski'ssemantic theory of truth had a significant meaning on the development of logic andphilosophy, and the theory promoted the study of semantics and truth. Carnap andDavidson had made a large number of meaningful works on solving the limitation ofTarski's semantic theory of truth which contributed to the development of Tarski'ssemantic.
