Contemporary Visual Art:Theoretical Research Under The Vision Of The Aesthetic Modernity

It can be said that Modern Western philosophy is full of contradictions and tensions from the outset. From the view of paradigm, there are two different kinds of modernity which are Enlightenment Modernity and Aesthetic Modernity, and these two aspects constitute the modern contradictions field.Contemporary visual art is a manifestation, and it is formed with the development of electronic visual which leads to a meaningful steering of cultural patterns, from one cultural pattern led by language logos to another cultural pattern of contemporary visual art. Contemporary visual art highlights its advantages in its development process, at the same time it towards the direction of deviation to a certain degree. On the one hand, contemporary visual art subverts the dominance of instrumental rationality, and emphasizes the pursuit of pleasure of visual perception. The contemporary visual art excessively abandons the meaningful and valuable guidance of reason, while it goes towards to the extreme road to pursue the pleasure of perceptual experience, so all those lead to the digestion and lost of the perceptual subjectivity. On the other hand, contemporary visual art makes daily life full of visual symbols, so it goes towards to a tendency of aesthetic life. However, at the same time in pursuing aestheticism visual aesthetic presentation, contemporary visual art excessively emphasize on the display of form beauty in visual experience, in order to cater for market and general public. As a result, contemporary visual art becomes the object manipulated by capital, and goes to a road of secularization and commercialization survival "materialized" again.In this regard, the contradictions of aesthetic modernity coincide with the internal development path of contemporary visual art. For this reason, faced with the dilemma of the contemporary visual art, we should use aesthetic modernity as a reference dimension to view the development of visual art, and make contemporary visual art go towards to a rational development path.
