This paper takes Wuzhong city, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region for an example. Literature analysis, surveys, interviews, domestic and international research trends of this topic are used to discusses the function of the mosque in the Muslim areas.This paper illustrates the number and scale of the mosque in Wuzhong City, as well as the belief situation of Hui people. Mosque is not only providing a place to muslin to fulfil religious obligations and hold ceremony, but also reserving the basic form of the traditional oratory education. While the traditional oratory education had a lot of problems. So how to solve these problem and achieve a new development becomes an important issue for the local religious education and the government.The teaching staff in the mosque did a positive work on how to guide people to love country and love Islam correctly, how to make people obey the police, solve the days affairs, how to promote the union of the Hui nation and other nations, and establish an harmonious society. But the functional reform still exited some problems, for example, the teaching staffs education is nearly on a low level, the economic systerm of the mosque is needed to be renewed, and the economic value of the mosque stopped the development of the Islam in the local area. The main causes of these problems include: the imperfect of the management system of education, the alienation of thee religious concept, and the bad interaction between the mosque and the local government.Suggestions are given in the end of the paper. Higher educated teachers is needed to cultivate, the traditional idea of the administrative staff is needed to change, the system of the finance is need to improve, and the variety of the productive activities are needed to launch, which would guide the economic development of the mosque correctly, and establish a new communicative system for the mosque and the local government.
