| The preposition word "ç»™(gei) "in modern Chinese language plays a significant role in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language. It frequently occurs in both oral communication and written expression, which is also one of the key and difficult points for Indonesian students in learning Chinese. The Chinese prepositions are mostly formed from verbs, however, some of them still have the characteristics of the verbs. These kinds of words are called both prepositions and verbs. It's worth noticing that the meanings of prepositions are often very virtual while the verbs' meanings are more real, so Indonesian students find it very hard to understand these prepositions and teachers find it hard to teach them. What is more, there are some differences in the corresponding structure in Indonesian. Therefore, students will often make mistakes in acquiring the Chinese preposition word"ç»™(gei)".Based on second language acquisition teaching as its purpose, this paper has studied and analyzed those simple sentences that Indonesian students have made with the preposition word"ç»™(gei)",and has analyzed some causes leading to those typical errors. Through the analysis of the writing and using a questionnaire investigation method, a quantitative research has been made on the work of Indonesian students of elementary and middle Chinese level who have learned"ç»™(gei)"The results showed that there are four kinds of errors in Indonesian students using the preposition word"ç»™",namely:incomplete sentences, sentences with redundant components, the misuse of prepositions and verbs, hybridity and wrong orders with other words in the phrases. Accordingly, a deep analysis has been made and some appropriate teaching strategies have been suggested. |
