Along with the development of Chinese teaching in the world, more and more foreigners start to learn Chinese. As a new discipline, Chinese as a foreign language is shouldering a great mission from the Country and the Nation. Since the 1970s, multimedia modern technologies are widely applied in every field, including the domain of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language.There is quite commonly used a computer software which in teaching is called the courseware, named PowerPoint (also known as PPT). It is one of the multimedia technologies widely applied in teaching Chinese as a foreign language, because of its formidable function and convenient operation. At present, the classes which already started to use the multimedia courseware assisting teaching Chinese as a foreign language are: Comprehensive Teaching, Oral Skills, Listening Comprehension, Reading Comprehension, Chinese characters, Writing Skills and so on.Using multimedia courseware in the field of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, allow us to reach the most basic goal that is to teach effectively with the multimedia courseware, and serves the purpose effectively for teaching Chinese as a foreign language. Therefore, this thesis takes the teaching Chinese as a foreign language at Northeast Normal University as the object of study; embarks from the student's point of view; seeks applying the strategies of multimedia courseware in comprehensive teaching of Chinese as a foreign language; formulate the teaching to be more target-oriented; conforms to the learner's study characteristic and demand; provides some basis to improve the quality, and teaching efficiency of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.This thesis bases on the teaching research of multimedia technologies (mainly refers to multimedia courseware, also known as PPT); study the effective utilization of the multimedia courseware in comprehensive teaching of Chinese as a foreign language, mainly from the four following aspects: new words and grammar teaching; text explanation and language section drill; practice as well as the forms of multimedia courseware designs. Aims to find the questions that may appear in the various aspects of the actual Chinese teaching above mentioned, and solve those questions with proposed teaching strategies obtained through the analysis of questionnaires as well as the observation in the class.The first part introduces the train of thought of this study, that is, the topic basis, the object of study and the scope, the research technique as well as the research goal and significance.The second part summarizes the current situation of domestic and international research, as well as the present situation of the researches of using multimedia.The third part enumerates the present situations of using multimedia courseware in the Northeast Normal University.The fourth part discovers the questions which exist in the utilization of multimedia courseware in the comprehensive teaching of Chinese as a foreign language.The fifth part, according to the questions that appear in actual comprehensive teaching of Chinese as a foreign language, propose the related teaching strategies from the following four aspects: teaching new words and grammar, text explanation and language section drill, practice, and the forms of multimedia courseware designs.
