| The usage of personal pronouns in Japanese is quite different from that of Chinese. Basically, only three personal pronouns are most frequently used in modern Chinese, which are"I/me","you/you", and"he/him(she/her)", and any of them could be used in almost any condition. However, in Japanese, the types of personal pronouns are far more in number, and are not correspondent with one another precisely. Usually, different pronouns are adopted according to the speakers'social status, personal relationships and so on. In Japanese, when used as the subject in a sentence, a personal pronoun is restricted by the tone of the predicate and the personal pronoun restriction problems come along, which are great obstacles for Chinese students in Japanese learning. Profound comprehension and analysis of this phenomenon of"predicates restrict personal pronoun subjects"is very meaningful to understand Japanese sentences and to promote the studies and education of Japanese. In this paper, the usage of Japanese personal pronouns is expounded in details, based on which, plus the theories of syntax, pragmatics, and cognition, the lingual phenomenon of"predicates restrict personal pronoun subjects"is analyzed from the perspective of tones. Also, this paper attempts to reveal the restricting factors of personal pronouns subjects, and does a demonstrative survey with the help of illustrations. |
