| In recent years, there have been increasingly frequent exchanges between China and Korean movies, TV shows, music, etc. Because of the huge response to these exchanges, what is known as the "Korea fever" was borne. Among these exchanges, the one that is close to the daily life is drama, thus it best reflects the authentic Korean culture. But the popular TV drama translation in the absence of deep understanding of Korean culture often causes misunderstanding. In this thesis, translation theory, language and culture, we first examine previous theoretical results; the translation of movies and television subtitles; the level of the problem and how to improve the translation strategy.This paper analyzes the Chinese television in recent years; examines a popular TV drama- "funny family"; and also look at other Korean dramas in Korean and Chinese subtitles. The main objective of this study is to analyze the composition of Korean and Chinese to express the similarities and differences, by using drama as a case study. Through it findings, it conclusions in the translation of specific applications, and then propose countermeasures to avoid misinterpretation. |
