Toni Morrison is one of the most important African American female writers in the history of American literature. She has gradually established her peculiar writing style which is based on the literary achievement of African-American literature. As an American writer of African origin, she has her own special point of view in her novels about African Americans; as a female writer, she has her own advantages when writing about women, especially black women. In her works, she focuses not only on the destiny of African Americans and African American women, but also on the existence and development of human beings which is also the chief concern of the eco-feminists. This thesis attempts to use eco-feminist theory to analyze Morrison's early novels: The Bluest Eye, Sula and Song of Solomon. In these novels, Morrison explores the relationship between men and women, human society and nature and that among different races, which reveals Morrison's ideas of eco-feminism. The author of this thesis makes an attempt of analyzing the intimate relationship between women and nature to bring out Morrison's ideas of eco-feminism.
