In this thesis, the author, in terms of graphics design, has made a research into the artistic characteristics, the representation rules and the visual transmission of Modern Fashion and Poster Design. The first chapter is an introduction, which generalized the background, purpose and main subject of the article. The second chapter has briefly described historical development and revolution of fashion and poster design. The third chapter analyzed and summarized the artistic characteristics and the visual transmission of modern fashion and poster design with multitudinous foreign outstanding cases. The fourth chapter is the analysis about visual transmission of fashion and poster design. The fifth chapter analyzed domestic status quo and development tendency.Through composition, the author finds, the modern fashion and poster design is in the stages of vigorous development. It has been widely used in various activity spots as a commercial phenomenon and frequently come forth to people's lives. Along with progress of the society, scientific development and advancement of material and cultural demands, it will be more flourishing. As a bridge between brands and customers, success or failure of the design greatly influences the transmission and operation of the brand. Currently, fashions and posters of many brands have been symbolized, which become a commercial culture. Their visual images and colorific elements have strong symbolic implication. The life style and the cultural tenor, which represented by the fashion and poster, are showing what the customers are searching. In the future, for fashion and poster design, requirement of originality and idea will necessarily be improved. People will pay more attention to artistic representation of it. It will endue cultural and artistic texture to the brand that will engender specific characteristics of art to the brand.
