Katherine Mansfield received the training in music during her childhood. When she was a teenager, she learnt playing cello. For some time she hesitated about the choice of her career between music and literature. Although at last Katherine Mansfield made up her mind to be a writer, music had been a part of her life. Therefore there is a great possibility of the musicality in the works of Katherine Mansfield. Is there the musicality in the works of Katherine Mansfield? That is the question that the thesis is to answer.The thesis aims at analyzing the musicality of Katherine Mansfield's works in the aspects of narration, content and form. In the process of analyzing, several theories have been applied followed by examples to make the analysis logical and practical. Some famous works of Katherine Mansfield, "Prelude", "The Garden Party", "The Singing Lesson", and "Miss Brill" are the objects of the analysis.The structure of the thesis is as follows. The thesis begins with the description of the relationship between Katherine Mansfield and music, and proposes the view that there is the musicality in her works. The second chapter is the analysis of the relationship between literature and music in the aspects of theory, classical works and the works of Katherine Mansfield. The subject in the third chapter is polyphony. As a means of narration, polyphony can fully show different characters' minds. In the aspect of content, Mansfield's works also have the musicality, which is the focus of the fourth chapter. In the fifth chapter the musicality in the form of Mansfield's works are analyzed from the angles of rhythm and repetition. In the concluding chapter, the question whether the works of Katherine Mansfield have the musicality is answered for certain. Katherine Mansfield's works have the musicality.
