| The author translated a lot of materials for the United Nations when she was an intern in the Translation Department of Graduate Institute of Interpretation and Translation of Shanghai International Studies University. During the internship, the author found such a big role auxiliary texts played in translating. However, auxiliary texts are looked down upon or even ignored by many scholars and translators.Thus, the paper discusses key roles auxiliary texts play in UN translation with examples, comparison and tables. The author hopes to share ideas with other translators and contributes to improving MIT programme. |
