On Old Age's Retreat And Defense Of Sun Li

As an important writer in contemporary literature history, Sun Lis has profound and abundant ideology and the style of his creations is very distinctive. Once upon, he is even regarded by other scholars as great thinker. The retreat and defense in Sun's old age is the external reflection of his idea, from which it can reveal his erudite ideology.The present thesis contains three parts: the first part focuses on Sun's models of retreat and defense from the perspectives of literary discourses and life models. In the aspect of literary discourse, the thesis elaborates the changes of his narrative perspectives and aesthetic inclination; in the aspect of life models, the author mainly lays stress on Sun's seclusion and his reading; the second part centers around the deadline of Sun's retreat and defense. In the struggle of retreat and defense, Sun does not only turn to retreat but sticks to his determined deadline, which can be seen in his personality and conscience. During the period of Cultural Revolution, although Sun confronts with lots of afflictions, he never grovel to the hardships and never loses himself; as a literate, Sun has been keeping eyes on the cultural development and very anxious about the damage of culture and the decline of morality; the third part mainly illustrates the reasons of Sun's retreat and defense in his old age from the perspectives of external cause and internal one. In this thesis, the external cause mainly refers to Sun's disappointment of social reality and the development of literature; the internal cause mainly embodies in Sun's character and his illness. And in the conclusion, the present author mainly analyses he side-effect of Sun's retreat and defense.
