In 1957, Zhang Xianliang was regarded as"rightist"for publishing Song of the Great Wind in the magazine Yanhe. Later Zhang Xianliang spent 22 years'prison-like rightist life in northwestern area. Until 1980s he returned to the literary world. Yet the 22 years'bitter experiences and life experience became inexhaustible headspring for his novel creation. He created many novels full of connotation such as Spirit and Flesh, Green Trees, and Half of a Man is a Woman, etc. Those novels were highly focused by readers and critics. This article starts from Bel-esprit and Beautiful Woman pattern commonly used in Zhang Xianliang's works, tries to look back upon history and tradition, uses the method of cultural care, text perusing and exploring individual experience and pays great attention to show the creating pattern of Bel-esprit and Beautiful Woman to explore thought connotation and gender culture in individual writing on deeper levels.The foreword part mainly introduces research process, method and purpose.The main body can be divided into 4 chapters.Chapter1, passing through history and tradition.
