Study On New Words Of Culture And Life

Vocabulary is the most sensitive part in language which reflected social change, and it particularly evidented in the new words. In study of new words, scholars have made a lot of theoretical exploration and contribution, which have laid a solid foundation to further research for future generations. But there are still some deficiencies in the research about some kinds of new words. This article try to make a plain discussion with approach from the general to the particular and from the particular to the general to the new words of culture and life which was published by "Language Situation in China" in 2007,2008 and 2009.And it summarized as four main aspects: First, the reasons of generation of the new words , it divided into external factors of language and internal factors in language; Second, ways to production of the new words. Here it made a comparison to the ways of previous generation, and analyzed from the perspective of inheritance and innovation; Third, discussions of the class nature and characteristics of the new words of culture and life; Fourth, exploration about new words affect to vocabulary units in the levels of vocabulary terms. After these discussions, this article try to make a prediction to the some new words re-emerged in 2010.
