Movie Perspective Of Medieval Catholic Nun's Social Life

Roman Catholic nuns are unique scenery in Western Europe religious life.With the passage of history and as time went on, Catholic nuns'status had been changing and developing, whose double identity attributes expanded more and more influence, which made them play an indelible role both in the secular world and religious world, whether as an individual or group.As the visual text becoming one of the ways for people to know and introduce the world, films appeared their value and function in history gradually. By combining movies and relevant historical materials, this paper aims to analyse the medieval Catholic nuns' social life depicted in films.This thesis tries to be faithful to objective historical facts and gives a panoramic schema evaluation about famous figures or events in history by freely analysis and case analysis.The article analyses the characters and films in different gradings according to the specific process of secular women's entering the monasteries, and summarizes the key point of different stages and the influence to historical characters.Also, this essay analyses the influence to the films, the audience and the society combining with the time of films, directors, scripts and countries.Finally, this paper gives a perspective on the changes of womens'status in religious life by comparing the figures in history and in the films. They became powerful Gospel spreading groups from the mysterious exists, which could not be ignored in the process of transmission.
