The Study Of The Pinckney Treaty Between The United States And Spain In 1795

"Pinckney Treaty" was a major achievement in the history of early American diplomacy, which was of great significance to both the economic prosperity of Western America and America's territorial expansion. By studying it, not only can we know about the tortuous process in negotiating it and the relationship shift between the United States and Spain,but also we can obtain a glimpse of the game between European powers and witness the growth of American diplomacy. This thesis, based on academic achievements at home and abroad, refers to abundant original documents, attempting to restore the signing process of the treaty. In addition, through analyzing the signing and impact of the treaty, the author hopes to make a more objective and comprehensive evaluation to this treaty.
