Drinking alcohol addiction brings not only the physical and mental damage to individual but also the adverse consequences to society.To help the alcohol-dependent individuals get rid of alcohol addictive behavior is an important content of health education.During the process of health education, the initiative of the educated is a key factor to health educational effect. To Improve the initiative ability of the alcohol-dependent individual is an important aim of the research which introduce the metacognitive theory and counseling techniques into alcohol addiction behavioral intervention based on biological - psychological -social medical model. Research trys to help the alcohol-dependent individuals recognize psychological factors exist in their drinking alcohol addiction from the perspective of health education and to improve consciousness about their cognition, emotion, feeling experience and the ability to detection and adjustment for enhancing the status of self-concordance among the alcohol-dependent individuals.During the process of health education of metacognition on the alcohol-dependent individuals, the educateds should practice the capacity of self-reflection and self-regulation to identify and adjust influence factors from both internal and external mental environment which are related to the successful continuity of the activity, and the acquisition of their desired results.What the study attempts to explore the effect of alcoholism health education made by mental assistance of metacognition is as follows: Firstly, to investigate and analyze the situation and features about the level of metacognitive awareness and self-harmony of the alcohol-dependent individuals by using questionnaires, scales, interviews combined with the case survey method. Those materials provide basic information for the metacognitive psychological assistance. Meanwhile, research makes the initial metacognitive psychology assistance during the course of interview, guiding their attention to inner thoughts, emotional and feeling experience and the corresponding body experience.Secondly,research carry on metacognitive psychological assistance on selected four representative cases according to the result of the survey, and explore the effectiveness of behavioral health education with improving the individual's metacognitive awareness level by mental assistance. That will provid the reference for intervention patterns on addictive behavior.Survey results show: (l) the level of metacognitive awareness of the alcohol-dependent individuals is lower than normal drinking or not-drink-alcohol people.They are lack of inner awareness about the ideas and emotions,feelings, and the coordination of capacity; (2) the level of self-harmony of the alcohol-dependent individuals is lower than normal people and there are more inner conflicts or contradictions in the mind of them.As for the cases studies, research use the structure of cognitive adjustment - the adjustment of emotional experience– cultivation of cognitive self-monitoring ability - prevention of recurrent bad drinking of psychological assistance to improve the level of metacognitive awareness of the four cases.During the counseling process, the positive feedback are given by cases. Finally, the study discuss the use of metacognitive theory and technology in individual assistance, and propose the operation methods and issues of psychological assistance, indicating the direction of research.In summary, this study suggests that to explore psychological reasons about the alcohol addiction as an important means of supporting treatment has its positive meaning. Metacognition psychological assistance can raise coordinating and monitoring ability about self-awareness, emotional and feeling experience belong the alcohol-dependent individuals to a certain extent. The alcohol-dependent individuals will benefit from getting rid of bad drinking behavior to mental self-adjustment in their daily life.There are some practical value on using of metacognitive theory and technology to improve self-monitoring level of the alcohol-dependent individuals. Metacognition ability makes them to have better ability to adapting society,coping with life problems. It is worthy of further study and application.
