Based on the social problems of the suicide phenomenon in the modern Japan and the so-called suicide for love events that is reported by the daily news, the suicide for love of men and women is researched against the things of suicide for love of series works by Chikamatsu Monzaemon. Especially, the discussion emphases are the differences between the original and the modern suicide for love is discussed.There are some differences between the past suicide for love from the works whose topic is love story or love trouble and modern suicide for love although the word of suicide for love that is become the social problems in modern Japan and that is come from Chikamatsu Monzaemon's series works such as "Sonezaki shinju", "Shinju Nimaiezoshi", "Utsukinomomiji", "Utsukinoiroage", "Shinjukasaneizutsu" and so on. On the other hand, there are some commons such as collective suicide and modern suicide for love. At the same time, as a Bushido ideas in the Monzaemon Chikamatu age, the love affair and suicide for love viewpoint that men and women suicide for love and they thought they can be together for ever after dead is analyzed.Moreover, the view of life and death in Japan that as a reason to achieve the aim of suicide for love through suicide and though the results are tragic and to get into suicide for love although to wait the cruel die is explored.At the same time, the suicide for love between the the peacock flies southeast of Chinese and the works of Japanese through compared the differences of live and die ideas against the social background and patriarchal rules is researched. As a result, there are some differences to live and die in ideas between Chinese and Japanese from the past to nowadays though the two Countries have the same cultural source.
