The syntactical structure''X就是了",which can express different moods or types of modality, is generally used in colloquial language. This syntactical structure is consisted of two parts:"X" and"就是了"."X就是了"consists two patterns:(1) X is realis, including something which has happened or is happening and events of habits and natural laws."就是了",at the end of the sentence, functions to reduce the importance, can be repalced by"罢了";(2) X is irrealis while"就是了"has some effects on X's moods or modality types."就是了"expresses an affirmative semantic meaning of "no hesitaion or doubt". This paper not only delineates X part and make explanations but also analyze the structure's moods and modality types. In the last part, we will study the English translation of "X就是了",especially the translation of''就是了'This paper consists of four chapters:The first chapter briefly reviewed the research on "X就是了"and defines the study range and methods. The current study is mainly about the grammaticalization of"就是了"while study of the syntactical structure and it's English translation is not rich at all.ChapterⅡand chapterⅢare the body parts of this article. The second chapter discusses X part, what can functions as X and what can not. Verbs are the main body of X with adjectives and nouns as the complementarity. The syntactic features of "X就是了"are our key points because they are related to the moods and modality of the syntactical structure. The third chapter discusses the moods and modality of the syntactical structure, expecially the problem that with what types of modality''就是了"can be matched and its influences on X.ChapterⅣaims to examine the English translation of "X就是了"expecially the translation of"就是了"which is proved not always be well translated.
