For example, contract spirit, it makes the West had to respect contracts, the tradition of honesty and trustworthiness, and then the classical natural law view of the social contract provides a strong ideological background; but it also opens the Western concept of rights and obligations of a precedent. Another example is the sacred spirit of the law, "the Pentateuch" set of the classic religious texts and laws as a whole, it clearly requires that people believe in God will abide by the law of God, who violated the law through a series of trial to be convicted. This is a rational authority, because the continuation of this tradition, making the West has to respect the authority of reason rather than succumb to the tradition of violence.
