Ranging from the turmoil world in the end of Ming Dynasty and at the beginning of Qing Dynasty, to the opening of the peace world down through the period ruled by Yongzheng, Qianlong, Jiaqing, and Daoguang, the middle period governed by Kangxi is very crucial for the development of regional clan. Focusing on the clan of Xinzhaigong surnamed Wan in Huanggang, this thesis specifically explores the clan practice by the primary regional clan in Huanggang after the middle period of Kangxi which is also understood in a longer evolutional process of regional history. In an attempt to explain the power basis of the primary clan for establishing its clan and the social mechanism of its rise, the thesis not only traces back the process of its accumulation of power since the end of Ming Dynasty and the beginning of Qing Dynasty, it also pays attention to its concrete performance after the middle period of Kangxi. From the participation of compilation of the clan genealogy for the whole clan surnamed Wan, to the compilation of the branch genealogy in Qianlong years, then to referring to the style and theory of compilation of genealogy used by clan surnamed Jing in Huanggang in Jiaqing years, branch clan Xinzhaigong in Huanggang has eventually made the clan Wan especially the branch Xinzhaigong meet the orthodox ceremony of Ru school. While compiling genealogy, branch Xinzhaigong was also trying to make the model for clan temple construction meet the standard by Zhuzi Ritual. However, because the clan lived separately in three counties, namely, Jiangxia, Huangbei, Huanggang, the construction of the clan temple was rather difficult. Afterwards, though this branch was in its heyday of official life, it didn't pay much attention to the construction of clan temple, while temples for burning incense and for tombs partially functioned as sacrificing all their ancestors. The concrete practice and process in compiling genealogy and constructing clan temple after the middle period of Kangxi, branch Xinzhaigong, many of them as official figures, exhibited the core role in constructing regional clan and national ceremony, which reflects the close relation between the development of regional clan and the tradition of regional social history.
