Xinjiang oil painting goes hand in hand with the special regional environment of Xinjiang. It is different from neither the Eastern liner style nor the Western rational concept. During the long process of development, Xinjiang oil painting forms its painting styles with the distinctive regional characteristics. This thesis primarily discusses it from four aspects:The first part mainly deals with the regionalizing development of Xinjiang Oil painting. By summarizing of the development of Xinjiang Oil painting, it establishes the theoretical foundation for analyzing the regional characteristics. The second part illustrates the regional characteristics of the Xinjiang Oil painting. It not only presents its subject matter, painting style and color, but also analyzes its artistic styles and characteristics from the perspective of vision. Besides, the works and creative ideas of the representative artists are discussed. The third part talks about the factors which influence the formation of the regional characteristics of Xinjiang Oil painting. By analyzing the natural scenery, folk customs, Islamic culture and other relevant elements, it, on the whole, explained the influence of region and cultural context to the regional development of Xinjiang Oil painting. Through the above discussion, the fourth part confirms the value and significance of the regionalization of Xinjiang Oil painting. In addition, it points out the problems in the process of the development. The final part serves as the conclusion of the whole thesis:the artists of Xinjiang oil painting should give full play to the advantage---regional characteristics, and create more art works with ethnic and regional characteristics.The main research methods of this article is the closely idea, citing the relevant literature, and representatives of the artist works on behalf of an analysis of induction, proofing layer to layer, carriing out which according to combination of theoretical and practical methods to conduct in-depth evaluation.
