YuHua is a very important writer of contemporary Chinese literary history, his unique writing style has a far-reaching impact on Chinese literary history. This thesis attempts to make an overall and systematic study of his series of novels. We could clearly found that the essence of his novel lies on his concerns about how the world abandons people and the redemption of human nature after textual and theoretical analysis of his novels.This thesis will generally study his novels of different periods from the perspective of human existence and human nature to reveal the humanities concerns and the power of humanism with Yuhua's novels.The whole thesis has been dived into five parts.In the introduction part briefly describes the abandon of human beings and Yuhua's presentations of possibilities of human nature within his novels.The first chapter mainly researches his novel creation in his pioneering period with an emphasis on describing the existence of human despair and viciousness of human nature.The second chapter puts an emphasis on Yuehua's three novels of 1990s. During the folklore style of narration, Yuhua's attitude toward the abandon of human being and redemption of human nature has obviously changed. He has discovered the relentless of life and historical value and significance of human survival from the hardship of human life.The third chapter has studied Yuhua's long novel of Brother. It particularly discusses the abandon of human being and the abundance of human world from the view of direct opposition. The two men, who are closely connected and twisted by destiny, has symbolized the change of times and indicated the possibilities of reversal of human nature.In the conclusion part, this thesis further discusses Yuhua's novels from the aspects of the abandon of human beings and historical significance on his concerns about narrowness of human nature. |
