Research On The Dialect's Pronunciation In Wugang County

In this paper, we have made a detailed description about the phonetic system in Wugang County based on the field survey. In addition, we have compared and analyzed the corpus supported by the data statistics with the knowledge of human geography and history in order to make an explanation on some phonetic phenomena in the dialect's phonology.The text is divided into five parts. Among them, the first chapter is a general illustration about the dialect's pronunciation in the county, mainly displaying the dialect's phonetic profiles. The second and third chapters are further notes on the county's dialect pronunciation, mainly to describe the county's phonetic system and try to analyze some of their voice level.The preface of this study briefly presents the geography, history, population, language usage of the county, the study status of the dialect, the significance and innovation of this article, and some instructions.The first chapter roughly described the internal differences about the county's dialects from the statistical and comparative perspective. Based on the results, the author of this study made a rough slice, then summarized the phonetic characteristic of each piece, and explained the causes of those slices from the point of immigrants and contacts. The second chapter compared the consonants, vowels and tones between Wugang dialect's phonology and the medieval phonology, distinguished the general and special phenomenon, and explained the particular phenomenon. Based on these analyses the phonological characteristics of Wugang dialect were sorted out.The third chapter sorted out the written readings and the spoken readings of Wugang dialect. According to these readings, this study examined the historical levels of some rhyme she (æ‘„) words and some individual words, and revealed the historical traces between these words.The conclusion part is a summary of the full text, which points out the deficiencies and the future need to conduct thorough examination.This thesis has three appendixes:Appendix 1 is syllable table of Wugang dialect. Appendix 2 is homophony words of Wugang dialect in the county. Appendix 3 is the vocabularies of Wugang dialect.
