The Grammaticalization Of "Bie Ti"

This paper mainly focuses on the lexical and grammatical process about"Bie Ti", in modern larguage. On the base of searching lots of language materials, I pay more attention to the synchronic performance and diachronic evolvement of"BieTi", and try to apply the theory of lexicalization, grammaticalness and phrase indication to explain the developmental motivation and evolvable mechanism of"Bie Ti".Firstly, this paper analyzes the synchronic performance of"Bie Ti". In modern Chinese, there are five kinds of performance resting on"Bie""Ti"of liner and neighbour position. Two of them indicate the phrase of"Bie Ti", which shows"Bu Yao Ti"and the syntactic structure of"Bie Ti Le", which has phrase indication function; These three kinds of wording form are the verb"BieTi2", incomplete adverb"BieTi3"and the inclined conjunction"BieTi4". According to the different contexts of their appearance, the verb"BieTi2"can be divided into"BieTi2a"and"BieTi2b"; For the absence of being constituent, the incomplete adverb"BieTi3"always coexists with"Duo X Le", forming the formation of"Bie Ti Duo X Le". We take a point of view from function, fixing it as"constituent elements";"BieTi4"lying on the evolvement from verb to conjunction, We start a view of it form, the developmental orientation in the future, defining it"inclined conjunction"word.Secondly, assuming and proving the historical evolvement of"Bie Ti", We reckon that the original use of"Bie Ti"appears during the middle and past-period of Ming Dynasty, On the base of surveying lots of language materials. In order to prove it, We discuss the formable time and the evolvable process of the denial adverb"Bie"and the meaning verb"Ti". As for the evolvement of these five kinds of"Bie Ti", We think that there are three evolvable roads leading to it: First, the phrase"BieTi1"verbalizes"BieTi2a", Then grammaticalizes"BieTi3"; Second, the phrase"BieTi1"verbalizes"BieTi2b",then grammaticalizes the inclined conjunction"Bie Ti4";At last, the phrase evolves the phrase indication"Bie Ti Le". Directly, when we construct the three evolvable roads of"Bie Ti", we introduce the motivation and mechanism which promote"Bie Ti".As one of many colloguial forms, We should pay more attention to evolvable prosess of"Bie Ti", which not only offers example during the period of surveying the language varieties and revealing the internal regulations among the Chinese words evolvement, But also offers evidence on explaining synchronic phenomenon.This paper adopts the method in interacting synchrony and diachrony , declicating to show the synchronical performance, evolvable process, developmental motivation and mechanism of"Bie Ti", I hope this paper could offer example for the evolvement of Chinese lexis.
