Currently researchers all over the world pay much attention to parent–adolescent communication which makes it a hot area of research. And many great achievements have been made since recently 20 years. Based on the systematic review of relevant literatures, this research focuses on junior middle school students'parent-adolescent communication in learning, which will not only enrich the existing parent-adolescent communication research, but also produce some references for improving parent-ado- lescent parent-child communication and the implementation of family education for parents. The paper consists three parts.The first research contains a selection of rural and urban middle school students in one class and some parents of these students who will complete the opening question - naires and be interviewed to collect academic topics of parent-adolescent communi - cation through item analysis, reliability and validity testing, the preparation of a "Parent-adolescent communication on Academic- related topics'questionnaire". The survey includes 20 projects that can be divided into four dimensions: parent-adole - scent communication on study marks, parent-adolescent communication on study habits, parent-adolescent communication on study methods and parent-child communi -cation on study attitude. The reliability and validity of the survey are acceptable in the context of psychological measurement, which can be used to evaluatearent adole- scent communication in academic- related topics.The second research picks up three second grade students from three secondary schools to get some general characteristics of parent-adolescent communication and the changing characteristic differences in demography through the implementation of Parent-adolescent communication on Academic- related topics questionnaire. The main results are as follows:1. The middle school students'parent-adolescent communication frequency and urban-rural differences exist in various dimensions of middle school students. Moreover, the overall frequencies of parent-adolescent communication studies of town students are higher than rural students in four dimensions of communication.2. The absence of parents affects parent-adolescent communication. The middle school students left gain lower communication frequency in general parent-adolescent communication in study and under four dimensionalities than non-staying students.3. Grade, gender, the education level of parents and whether the child is the only child in family will have some impacts on parent-adolescent communication.The third research collects all the academic subjects and standardizes them according to school and grade. After the relative and regression analysis on the relationship between parent-adolescent communication and school work achievements this paper gets the following conclusion: 1. Generally, the parent-adolescent communication gets close relationship with the students'performance on study especially for the middle school students.2. The parent-adolescent communication on study methods has some predictive functions toward learning achievements.
