In this thesis, we mainly try to describe and analyze the conceptualization and lexicalization of English "good" and Chinese "Hao(好)",aiming at exploring similarities and differences of cognitive style.Firstly, this dissertation analyzes the conceptualization of English "good" and Chinese "Hao(好)".It follows that the conceptualizations of them are dynamic processes. English speakers and Chinese speakers have some similarities in cognitive perspectives and cognitive levels. But because of the differences of social environments and so on. the cognitive perspectives and cognitive levels also have the differences. For example, "good money" pays attention to the quality in English. In Chinese,"好'"pays attention to the appearance.Then this dissertation analyzes the lexicalization of English "good" and Chinese "Hao(好)".The methods of lexicalization between them are similar. But the subjective consciousness in Chinese is a few stronger than in English. Due to some historical factors, the English users and Chinese users have different cognitive style. In the collocations of English "good" and Chinese "Hao(好)",the Chinese collocations are more than in English. So the lexicalization of Chinese is various.
