The boy scout eduction is a teenagers'organization around the world. It was founded by Robert Baden-Powell, an English retired officer, in 1907 in England. As a completely new eductional method in the 21th, it spread to all around the world over one hundred years after being established. The eductional ideas of emphasizing participation and practice had general significance on teenagers'growth. In the Republic of China's history, the boy scout developed greatly, but the developmental aim and course of training were greatly different from those of the boy scouts in other places of the world. The object of study in this thesis is the boy scout in Yunnan (from 1931 to 1946). Meanwhile, the thesis narrates the clue of the origin and development of Yunnan's boy scout, and the organization's tenets as well as main scoial practices and objective appraisements. Owing to the exceptional and historial geographic environment, the development of the boy scout in Yunnan slightly lagged behind those of other areas in China. So the boy scout in Yunnan grew up significantly during the period between the Mukden Incident and 1946. Although the boy scout's eduction became an important way of the political indoctrination for Kuomintang in the Republic of China's history, its development corresponded to the demand of the teenagers'seeking personal freedom and growing healthily. And the boy scout's actions of actively participating in voluntary service and social activities contributed to the nation. This paper tries to draw an outline of the boy scout in Yunnan and expects to give the relevant studies some useful information.
