On The Male Worship In Lawrence's Works

D. H. Lawrence is not only one of the most ingenious and controversial writers in Britain literatus but also in world literatus in the 20th century. He created a great number of outstanding works in his short life, involving poetry, drama, novels, travel notes, literary comments and so on. He widely demonstrated the alienation effect that was brought to people's nature from modern industrial society and meticulously analyzed human marriage, sexual relationship and the relationship between human and nature. The prominent characteristic of Lawrence's works is that he described sex boldly and he asserted that people can readjust the relationship between human and nature by readjusting the relationship between man and woman. This paper is trying to analyze and discuss the consciousness of male worship in Lawrence's works by combing his representative novels in his different creative periods. The meaning of the male worship is that male plays a more important role between men and women and women shall obey the male's will.There are three chapters in this paper except for the introduction and conclusion. The first chapter is about the connotation and content of Lawrence's male worship. The second chapter is about the development track of his male consciousness in his representative novels. The third chapter is about the reasons of his male worship's formation.In order to help readers know Lawrence and his works deeper and better, I combed Lawrence's male worship which was revealed in his representative novels of his different creative periods in this paper.
