Moyan has a special"voice"among numerous modern writers. Therefore, it is meaningful and valuable to study different figures in his novel, to understand his concern on survival, highly praise on vitality and deep thought on human in his creation. All these will contribute to further understanding of Moyan's novel writings.This thesis will interpret Moyan's novels from perspective of figures, including three parts, preface, body and conclusion.In preface, it's pointed out clear that concerning on life and survival is the constancy principle held by Moyan in his novel writing. Reflected in detailed figures, the principle appears that all figures have their own ideals. They choose to resist and struggle when encountered troubles in survival, which marks a process of vitality.Next is body part and is divided into three parts to analyze.The first part narrates internal and external difficulties of figures'survival in Moyan's novels. Based on western Existentialism theory, it proves that the internal difficulties are mainly from human's defect and paranoid. The spiritual incompleteness and special melancholy in figures form the internal difficulties of characters'survival.While external factors are based on figures'social and historical environment, indicating that three aspects have profound influence and restriction on human's survival and constitute the external difficulties of figures'survival; they are institutional culture aspect (including the oppression from feudal system and Materialism of modern civilization), special historical and political stage (including the break out of war and political instability) and difficulty of country life.The second part is figures'struggle and resistance against survival difficulties in Moyan's novels. This part divides the figures'resistance into two levels. The first level refers to instinctive struggle, in other words, figure's satisfaction and release from food and sex. The second level is non-instinct resistance, which are mainly figures'exploration on lives'continuance and existence between life and death, or in strange world.The third part indicates special interpretation methods taken by Moyan in his figures'struggle against survival difficulties. High praise of vitality and deep thought on human in Moyan's novels are also expressed in this part.The conclusion part generalizes Moyan is a writer full of responsibility and sympathetic complex. His figures convey the topic of vitality and value of human existence. In summary, Moyan's novels show persistent concern and profound thinking on human status and human existence. Therefore, his works have a great significance in contemporary literature.
