On The Succession And Innovation Of Sushi's Prose Theory

Su Shi is a great master who is good at inheriting and innovating in the history of ancient Chinese prose. His prose theory originates from ancient sages and surpasses these sages, which manifests the intense innovation. This thesis analyzes his prose theory on the basis of investigating its origins and reasons. I attempt to comb and evaluate his prose theory by the numbers. On these bases, I am ready to elaborate on his influences and enlightenments for the generations.The thesis is divided into three chapters.Chapter 1 On the succession of prose theory. This chapter thinks that his prose theory is not the water without a source and a tree without roots. The part of Su Shi's prose theory inherit and absorb others theoretical views, such as Han Yu, Su Xun, Ouyang Xiu,and so on. And Su Shi has own ideas and thoughts on the prose theory.Chapter 2 On the innovation of prose theory. Innovation is merit and value of his prose theory. The parts of Su Shi's prose theory reflect spirits of independence and thoughts of freedom.Chapter 3 On the reasons of formation and influences. This chapter discusses reasons for his prose theory's formation from three aspects. And this chapter makes analysis of the far-reaching influence in both theory and practice for generations.
