Pain is an unpleasant subjective feeling and emotional experience injury. It is oneof the most which is related to the tissue common sufferings to human. Currently,analgesics commonly used clinically have significant side effects, so it is inevitable tolook for some new drugs with a strong analgesic effect and minor side effects. Such asBufo gargarizans,many kinds of amphibians were used as traditional Chinese medicine.The skins and visceral in the amphibian had been proved to have a wide range ofpharmacological activities and better clinical efficacies. Many pharmacologicalactivities such as broad-spectrum anti-bacterial, anti-tumor, and analgesic effects havebeen reported.In this study, three kinds of bioactive substances were purified from the secretionsof Hylaranaguentheri in chongqing. Major research work includes four aspects:①itsskin and secretions were extracted by four methods, including: peeling, ether anesthesia,epinephrine stimulation and electric shock.②Four kinds of the crude extraction wereused in anti-inflammatory and analgesic experiments.The extraction by electric shockwas not shown anti-inflammatory activities, and the others samples had a significanteffects on it.In the analgesic experiments,four crude extractions had activities, peelingand ether anesthesia shown stronger active than others and non-lethal in mice wheninjected600mg/kg subcutaneously.③three kinds of single analgesic components a, b,c were gotten from extractions of peeling, ether anesthesia by HPLC. All of themshowed a single peak in Chromatogram. The protein contents of three components were1μg/ml,26μg/ml and228μg/ml respectively.④The following studies investigatedtheir biological functions. Locomotor activities were different before and after injectedsamples in mice. Component a and b showed a erecting-tail and jumping reactions, butcomponent c is neither erecting-tail nor jumping responses.
