Traditional Chinese medicine plays a special role in treatment of sports injuries. Potassium content may be associated with the differences between theories of medicine characteristics of Chinese herbal medicines. This paper determines the content of potassium in commonly used traditional Chinese bruise medicines, analyses the theoretical characteristics of potassium content in different Chinese herbal medicine of different effect, meridian, smell and potency and the relationship between them and provides a scientific basis for research and application of the compound traditional Chinese medicine and clinical prescription of transdermal drug delivery agents of treatment of sports injury.Method:The content of potassium in206traditional Chinese medicine of common traumatic injury is measured with atomic spectral absorption. Statistical analysis of the measured data is completed with Excel and statistical analysis software for statistical analysis SPSS.Result:1.The mean value of potassium in hemostatic traditional Chinese medicine is significantly higher than in dampness and analgesic, and has a significant difference (P<0.05). Potassium has a correspondence with promoting blood circulation.2.The mean value of potassium in different Meridian of traditional Chinese medicine of common traumatic injury is higher in First owned by the Heart Sutra and First owned by the spleen. There is no significant difference between different First owned by Meridian (P>0.05). Potassium has a correspondence with First owned by Meridian.3.The mean value of potassium in different herbal characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine of common traumatic injury is higher in warmness. There is no significant difference between different herbal characteristics (P>0.05). Potassium has a correspondence with warmness.4.The mean value of potassium in different herbal tastes of traditional Chinese medicine of common traumatic injury is higher in sweet taste and bitter taste. There is no significant difference between different herbal tastes (P>0.05). Potassium has a correspondence with pungent taste.5.The mean value of potassium in different natural attributes of tra-ditional Chinese medicine of common traumatic injury is higher in flo-wer and fruit, and has a significant difference from other natural attrib-utes (P<0.05). Potassium has a correspondence with fruit and flower.6.The mean value of potassium in different traditional prescriptions of common traumatic injury is higher in prescription of the late treatment of injury and chronic injury and lower in prescription of early treatment of injury and has a significant difference (P<0.05).Conclusion:1.The research of the relationship between potassium and the meridian, potency and smell shows that traditional Chinese medicines of more potassium are applicable to the late treatment of acute injury and chronic injury, for example that rhubarb, Dafupi and angelica can be used in the late treatment of sprain and muscle damage.2.That potassium assists the treatment of hemostasis and Qi, is consistent with the physiological role in health care of potassium.3.The content of potassium is higher in traditional Chinese medicine from flower, fruit and rhizome. And this is relevant to that potassium promotes photosynthesis and mainly exists in growth vigorous parts of plant.4.The feature of potassium content in prescription of traditional bruise compound Chinese medicine is consistent with physiological role and therapeutic mechanism of potassium in moedern medical research. In the early treatment of acut injury, traditional Chinese medicines of fewer potassium should be used, e. g. cloves and leaves. In the late treatment of injury, traditional Chinese medicines of more potassium should be used, e. g. stafflower, thizome of Chuanxiong and peach kernel.
