Objective:To evaluate the curative effect and safety of preoperative interventional chemotherapy for advanced gastric cancer(AGC).Methods:46 patients with adanced gastric cancer(AGC) patients received two different methods for treatment.23 cases in group A with AGC received interventional chemotherapy before surgery, after the artery supplying blood to tumor was catheterized with Seldinger technique.The anticancer drugs used were 5-Fu500~1000mg, DDP 20~40mg,MMC 6~10mg.All patients were performed operation 8-14 days after the second intervention;23 patients in group B with AGC on whom surgery were performed did not receive any preoperative regional anticancer drugs as controls.Both this 2 groups received conventional venous chemotherapy 4-6 courses after surgery.Histopathological changes were studied in all specimens, complication and the survival rate were investigated.Results:23 patients after interventional chemotherapy clinical symptoms improved,tumor size had different degrees narrowed.Histopathological examination:Intervention chemotherapy group 22 cases had effectively showed,13 cases reached GradeⅠ,8 cases reached GradeⅡ,1 case reached GradeⅢ,only 1 examples show is invalid.The complication caused by surgery between two groups was not significantly different (P>0.05).The 3-year survival rate between two groups was significantly different (P<0.05)Conclusion:Preoperative intervention chemotherapy of adanced gastric cancer (AGC) is safe, effective and feasible auxiliary treatment.
