This paper deals with the effect of MIEX-DOC ion exchange resin on the arsenic removal of drinking water, including the capacity of arsenic removal, the removal capability of As (Ⅲ) and As (Ⅴ), and the removal capabilities of As(Ⅲ) and As(Ⅴ) in different ion condition and pH values. The result showed that MIEX-DOC(?) resin's capacity of arsenic removal was0.0051mg/ml, and its capabilities in removing As (Ⅲ) and As (Ⅴ) showed no significance (p>0.05). Different ions showed significantly negative or positive effect on the arsenic removal of MIEX-DOC(?) resin. pH value also can greatly affect the arsenic removal, especially of As (Ⅲ). However, the arsenic removal was kept above50%at the initial concentration of0.01mg/L. The field experiment showed that, by application of MIEX-DOC(?) resin under the concentration condition of around10ml/L, the arsenic concentration decreased from around0.1mg/L to below0.05mg/L, which reached the 《Drinking water health standards>(GB5749-2006) on the rural small-scale centralized water supply and decentralized water supply. Localized equipment using MIEX resin was the same as the imported equipment in effectivity at arsenic removal, but cheaper at the cost. The running cost was0.56Yuan per cubic meter water for the localized equipment. In consequence, MIEX-DOC(?) resin has a significant potential in arsenic removal and can be applied to the China's countryside areas suffered from the high-arsenic drinking water.
