Purpose: To inresligate the relerance between the p16 and Bmi-1expressions in cancer cell and the clinical-puathological characleristics of lung equamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma;as well as the correlalion between expressions of these two types.Method: Using immunochemicalmethod,to examine the expressions of p16 and Bmi-1 protein in tumor tissues of 35 apecimens excised during pulmonectomy for Non-small all lung cancer patiento.Results:The total poeituie rate of p16 protein was 17.1% in 35 cases of cancerous tissue,but 90% in normal lung tissues.The differences tumor was statiotically significant.There were no significance in difference of p16 expression related to different tumor siges ahd hiotologic types,as well as wide or without lymphonodemetastasis.The total poeituie rate of Bmi-1 protein was 85.7% in 35 cases of canceroma tissue,but gero in normal lung tissues.There was statistical significance in difference of Bmi-1 expressions in the group with or without lymphonode metastasis, but no rignificant difference in Bmi-1 expression between various tumor siges,differentiation degrees,as well as histologial types.The expressions of p16 and Bmi-1 in Non-small lung cancers show negatine correlation.Conclusion:1.The expressition of P16 obviously decreased in cell block of squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma of Lung due to the Tumor differentiation degree.It signified the effect of cancer suppressor gene in the normal lung tissue. The expression of P16's decreasing and lacking was correlated with the differentiation degree.2.The expressition of Bmi-1 obviously increased in cell block of squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma of Lung and also rised in the Lymph node metastasis group.The expressition of Bm-1 increase is probably associated with cell block of squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma of Lung.Bmi - 1 could be used as one of the evaluation index of lung non-small cell lung cancer.3.The expressions of p16 and Bmi-1 in Non-small lung cancers show negative correlation.It prompted that Bmi-1 would act as negative regulators of P16 in the the negative regulation in cell block of squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma of Lung.4.Puncture cell block could be used as the experimental platform advanced cancer molecular biology.
