In order to explore cytotoxicity of three kinds of non-ionic surfactants, in this thesis, MTT assay was used to identify of proliferation inhibiting effect of four kinds of alkylphenol ethoxylates surfactants on HeLa cells and CHO cells, inhibiting effect of three kinds of N,N-dialkyl urea compounds on Human embryonic skin fibroblasts cells; and 3H-TdR incorporation method was used to identify of proliferation inhibiting effect of three kinds of ethoxylate fatty alcohol on Human embryonic skin fibroblasts cells. The results indicated that restraining effect of cell reproduction by three kinds of chemicals mentioned above, gradually increased with their concentration increased. However, cytotoxicity of N,N-dialkyl urea compounds is much lower than alkylphenol ethoxylates and ethoxylate fatty alcohol. When the concentrations of alkylphenol ethoxylates OP-7,OP-9,NP-10 and NP-25 were 0.1mg/ml, Their inhibition rates on HeLa cells were respectively 90.23%,87.76%,89.56% and 24.86%. on CHO cells were 89.34%,85.95%,90.97% and 21.31%. When the concentrations of N,N-diethyl urea,N,N-dipropyl urea and N,N-dibutyl urea were 5mg/ml, their inhibition rates on Human embryonic skin fibroblasts cells were respectively 61.94%,62.50% and 86.94%. When the concentrations of Ethoxylate fatty alcohol AEO-5,AEO-9 and AEO-15 were 0.1mg/ml., their inhibition rates on Human embryonic skin fibroblasts cells were respectively 99.53%,98.60% and 63.15%. The reproduction restraining effects of alkylphenol ethoxylates and ethoxylate fatty alcohol on cells gradually decrease as the numbers of EO increase. The reproduction restraining effects of N,N-dialkyl urea compounds on cells gradually increase as the numbers of carbon chain length increase.
