The design of knee part is of most importance when coming up with a new lower-limb prosthesis because of it's structural complexity and it's weight on the performance of the overall structure. With an advanced level of understanding and mechanics, big name companys abroad are monopolizing prosthesis industry in the wake of having their sophisticated product lines lanched worldwide. Nevertherless, for the time being domestic work for lower-limb prosthesis design seems inadequate and our prosthesis industrys can't make their growth without a foreign hand.It requires lots of endeavors including the structure-designing work comprising reflection, drawing and calculation which are critical to the aim of the overall designing work.Somehow, no detailed work have been done before.To tackle this problem, a design work on the whole is conducted. This essay extracts some features from gait analysis, and thus sets up the goal of knee-designing work. Then a kinematic and dynamic analysis is conducted after modeling. Furthermore, detailed structure designing work is done in PRO/E environment. After that, the 3D model created is transferred into ADAMS for a dynamic simulation trying to find out the relationship between prosthetic-leg-swing behavior and parameters such as damper force and assistant force for extension, followed by a discussion on prosthetic-leg swing behavior control strategy.
