BackgroundsEssential drugs are the safest, most economical and effective ones that are selected by nation. It is beneficial to allocate medical resources to establish national essential drug system. In addition, it can guarantee people's basic demand for medication and the equality of essential drugs, which can also overcome the shortage and waste of medical resources. What s more, it can settle the problems of difficult and expensive of seeing the doctor, alleviate people's burden of medical cost.ObjectivesTo understand the awareness on essential drugs of community doctors in Shandong province and analyze its influencing factors, in order to offer measures and advices to perfect national essential drug system and promote implement and improve its effect by questionnaire survey to doctors of community health service in Shandong province.Objects and methodsThis study was taken in Weifang, Jinan and Liaocheng of Shandong province as sampling city. We use random sampling methods to investigate clinic doctors in community health service agencies.Survey contents mainly included condition of community clinic doctors and the awareness of national essential drugs of community clinic doctors.After checking the data we bring back, entered by unified code. SPSS 16.0 was used to statistically analyze.Main Results1) 154 city community doctors were interviewed in this survey,45.5% of which were male physicians and 54.5% were female. In term of age, the interviewee dominated by middle-aged and young.2) Specialty composition of interviewees dominated by clinical medicine and general practice; educational level of interviewees dominated by junior college degree or above; professional category constitute mainly to general medicine and clinical medicine; 84% community doctors possess Assistant practicing doctors certificate or practicing doctors certificate.3) 74.7% community doctors have participated the basic knowledge training of essential medicine, average number is 3.65 times and the median is 2 times.4) All of interviewees knew or heard of national essential drug system,79.2% of interviewees via Professional training and 40.9% of interviewee via the media Propaganda to understanding the national essential drug system.5) The answer of 11 investigation items, the number of correct answer is 7.91±2.3; single factor analysis revealed:age, marriage, administrative positions, qualifications and participated in training on essential drug system have different cognition on national essential drug system statistically significant.6) Multivariate analysis results showed that sex, professional and administrative positions of community doctors have different cognition on national essential drug system statistically significant. Conclusion and suggestionThe cognition of Shandong community doctors to essential drugs is good. According to analysis results, discussion and analysis above, suggestions are as follows:1) strengthen the propaganda and education system of essential drugs, and increase the public approval of essential drugs.2) Strengthen the relevant training, etc. Improve the compliance of medical staff in medical institutions in using essential drugs.3) Establish and perfect the incentive mechanism. Incent doctors to use the national essential drugs.
