In this paper, the fresh rejuvenated fruit of Juglans mandshurica Maxim. commonly called"Bei Qinglongyi"was studied as research object. The humam colon carcinoma cell line LS-174T was chosen as efficacy model. Screening the cytotoxic active fraction of Bei Qinglongyi against LS-174T cells was measured by MTT assay. HPLC fingerprint of Bei Qinglongyi was constructed. Using multiple linear regression (MLR) to find the relationship between the"fingerprints"and"efficacy".Bei Qinglongyi was extracted with 95% ethanol. Cytotoxic activity fraction was isolated by various chromatographic methods such as macro porous resin column chromatography, silica column chromatography, and solvent extraction. Chosen humam colon carcinoma cell line LS-174T as efficacy model to screen the cytotoxic activity fraction using MTT assay. And the ethyl acetate extract was cytotoxic activity fraction of Bei Qinglongyi. The fingerprints of cytotoxic activity fractions from various sources were established by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). HPLC fingerprint was evaluated using similarity analysis (SA) and hierarchical clustering analysis (HCA) of 10 batches of Bei Qinglong Yi from different sources. Finally, On the basis of the dates of the HPLC fingerprint and its cytotoxic activity,the spectrum-effect relationships between HPLC fingerprint and cytotoxic activities were investigated using multiple linear regression (MLR).
