Objective: To investigate the expression of OVCA1, p53 protein in ovarian serous tumors and the relationship with clinical stage, histological grade, lymph node metastasis such factors. To research the correlation between P53 and OVCA1.Methods:Collection the patients information that.admitted and confirmed serous ovarian tumors by pathology in the First Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University during January 2002–december 2009 immunohistochemical staining method, detected the OVCA1 and p53 protein expression in 6 cases of normal ovarian tissues, 10 cases of ovarian serous papillary cystadenoma, 34 cases of ovarian serous papillary cystadenocarcinoma.Comparison OVCA1 and P53 expression in different clinical stage, histological grade, lymph node metastasis, ascites. All data were statistically analyzed. Results: 1.OVCA1 coloring in the cytoplasm, in ovarian serous malignant tumors, the positive expression rate was 64.71% (22/34) in serous cystadenoma and normal ovarian tissue is not expressed, comparing the two groups have Significant difference (P <0.01).2.P53 coloring in the nucleus, in ovarian serous malignant tumors, the positive expression rate was 76.47% (26/34) in serous papillary cystadenoma and normal ovarian tissue is not expressed.Comparing the two groups have Significant difference (P <0.01). P53 protein expression has relationship with clinical stage (P <0.05). 3.In serous ovarian cancer OVCA1 protein expression and P53 expression are related. Conclusion: 1.OVCA1 and P53 protein were expressed in ovarian serous cystadenocarcinoma, and were not expressed in ovarian serous cystadenoma and normal ovarian tissue.Detection of its expression may help in differentiating benign and malignant ovarian tumors. 2.P53 protein expression and different clinical stages, detection of p53 protein expression in ovarian serous carcinoma in judging the degree of malignancy may have a reference value. 3.OVCA1 gene and P53 gene to participate in ovarian serous carcinoma, the joint detection of two gene products, is expected to be a good means of auxiliary examination.
