Henderson and Webster released impedance image firstly in 1978.The history of the research for electrical impedance tomography go through more than 30 years so far. But, it is still a frontier issues so far. There are still many issues to be further studied now. For example method of solving equations is sick and hardware systems are not high accuracy and so on. It is a functional, non-injury imaging technology used to monitoring patients for long periods.The practical application technology of the breast EIT detection system based on comprehensive analysis of the developments and existing problems for the breast EIT detection technology both domestic and international is studied in this paper.Lots of experimental analysis and examinations of imaging based on phantom model for the breast that had been done in this paper established further the basis for the clinical application of breast electrical impedance tomography imaging technology.Further study for imaging of breast electrical impedance tomography have been done in this paper. Main tasks have completed in this paper are as follows:(1) A electrical impedance tomography hardware system having 96 channels and three-electrode used to detecting breast is designed in this paper. The system uses two microcontrollers used to controlling other parts of the system.(2) A breast phantom model having three-electrode and 16 electrodes for each layer is designed in this paper.(3) The tetrahedral mesh for three-dimensional physical model have been done in this paper.(4) Lots of experiments have been done in this paper, and, the positioning capability and resolution for all kinds of distribution of electrical impedance have been analyzed in this paper.(5)There are a preliminary study of three-dimensional imaging methods to section of equipotential surface backprojection algorithm based on breast phantom model and a preliminary simulation using matlab software based on the tetrahedral mesh of three-dimensional physical model in this paper.
