As the most common form of arrhythmias, premature often threaten people's lives and health. According to the different parts of the origin, premature can be divided into sinus, atrial, ventricular and atrioventricular junction, in which atrial premature beats and ventricular premature beats are most common. Different pathological phenomena have different treatment. Therefore it is important to analyze the characteristics of the premature signal.This thesis first introduces the generation of electrocardiogram (ECG) and then introduces the generation mechanism of arrhythmias and premature. Next the focus moving to the wavelet modulus maxima based multifractal analysis, it was used to study the multifractal characteristics of the atrial premature beat (APB) signals, the premature ventricular contraction (PVC) signals and normal ECG signals. By analyzing the multifractal spectrum, it was obtained that three kinds of signals have different multifractal strength. Normal ECG signals had the strongest singularity strength. The PVC beats were of the second stronger singularity strength. And the APB beats were of the weakest singularity strength. The T test indicated that above-mentioned analysis could disclose significant differences among these three signals.Finally this paper studies symbolic transfer entropy based on the symbolic dynamics and entropy. This method supposes the different lead as a coupled system, and studies the strength of the coupling effect between them. Experiments show that three types of signal coupling are in the same direction. The coupling of the normal signals is the strongest; following is premature ventricular contractions; and atrial premature beat is the weakest. The T test shows that the entropy difference between the three signals is distinct. And it only needs a very short three kinds of data for the symbolic transfer entropy to effectively differentiate the signals and it has very good computational efficiency.
