Quantitative assessment of muscle spasticity is an important issue of contemporary rehabilitation medicine. However, there are a small amount of qualitative and quantitative assessment be used in clinical studies for that the mechanism of vasospasm is not clear yet. As we know, the theory of applied the independent component to the quantitative assessment (ICA), a kind of blind source separation theory of form, is a statistical theory and computing technology for revealing a random variable measuring the hidden data or signal components. This article which used ICA will help patients get better treatment and rehabilitation.In Paper the present conditions of the mechanism and assessment of spasticity had been described, the ICA theory and application also had been introduced and observation signal X in both of aspects of the mixing of space and time can be accurately restored by the reconstruction signal Y whether the mixed input signal is a parabolic curve or pulse signals. In order to simulate the experiment of human swing leg angle bending system, an entry system which have the input signal and the original angle had been established. And the system's pulse signal had been reconstructed.By comparing the thigh swing test experiments of healthy people and patients and analyzing their different impulse signals and impulse responses, the index of evaluation of spasticity had been obtained.In articles the ambiguity problem of ICA in simulation had been solved by minimizing the error, the gain parameter and the order of parameters; use the Fast ICA algorithm, the reconstruction signal Y had been obtained and the impulse response had been rebuild in the case of only know observed signal X; In the thigh swing test experiments the impulse signal of patients had been simulated by increased the torque to healthy people; By analysis the curve of leg bending angle of different patients, which used the redevelopment impulse response, the spasticity assessing the degree of amplitude ratio is R1 and reached this assessment index that the more light the greater the degree of spasticity. The proposal of assessment of spasticity index R1, the development of research of applying the ICA theory in spasticity will be promoted. And patients will have better treatment and assessment methods so that benefit of more patients.
