Objective:To explore the risk factors of vascular dementia(VD) in patients with cerebral arterial thrombosis so as tp offer some help for early prevention and treatment as well mas some reliable theoretical basis. Methods:The cases of cerebral arterial thrombosis treated in this hospital from December,2008 to August,2010 underwent the surveys of their medical history, physical ckeck-up, blood biochemical check-upand head CT or MRI scannings.Mini-mental ischaemic examination(MMSE) was conducted and Hachinski ischemic score(HIS) was used to exclude Alzheimer's disease(AD) and other types of diseases. According to NINDS-AIREN diagnostic standards,75 VD patients were detectd. and meanwhile,75 cases of non-VD formed the contrast group. The age, sex, education background, hypertension, coronary heart disease, hyperlipemia, smoking, drinking, and cerebral apoplexy between the two groups were compared. The foci, number and sparse alba were detected through CT or MRI. And t-test, and X2 test or the multiple non-conditional logistic regression analysis were used to confirm the risk factors of VD.Results:The single-factor analyses indicated that there existed significant difference in terms of the age, hypertension, DM, hyperlipemia, smoking, multiple cerebral infarction, having stroke history, and the sites of cerebral infarction(lobi frontalis, lobi temporalisc and baseline) between the two groups(p<0.05), while no significant difference was found in terms of sex, education background, sparse alba and the sites of cerebral infarction(thalamencephalon, lobi parietalis and lobi occipitalis) between the two groups(p>0.05). The correlative risk factors confirmed by the single-factor analyses were further analyzed by the multiple factor non-conditional logistic regression analysis and the it was found that there existed significant differences in terms of hypertension, multiple cerebral infarction, the sites of cerebral infarction(lobi frontalis and baseline), DM, hyperlipemia and age between the two groups(p<0.05).Conclusion:Hypertension, multiple cerebral infarction, the sites of cerebral infarction (lobi frontalis and baseline), DM, hyperlipemia and age are the main correlative risk factors of VD in patients with cerebral arterial thrombosis.
